Bushidō (武士道, "the way of the warrior") is a moral code concerning samurai attitudes, behavior and lifestyle, formalized in the Edo period (1603–1868). There are multiple types of bushido which evolved significantly through history. Bushido is used as an overarching term for all the codes, practices, philosophies and principles of samurai culture.
Ryan has developed a revolutionary program grounded in what we refer to as chain theory, a concept he has intricately woven into the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. By understanding techniques as interconnected "links" in a chain, Ryan enables students to grasp the flow and sequence of moves in a way that feels natural and intuitive. The program is designed with the practitioner in mind, making it easier for them to not only comprehend the mechanics of each technique but also to instantly implement them during live sparring or drills. This approach eliminates the traditional disjointed nature of learning individual moves, replacing it with a fluid and dynamic method where each technique seamlessly builds upon the previous one, empowering students to react instinctively and with confidence on the mat. Ryan's chain theory program thus transforms the learning experience, offering a clear, digestible path for practitioners to enhance their skills and execute complex techniques with greater ease.
